A day that I never thought was possible this season. A day that felt a million miles away from happening even four months ago is now upon us. It’s a day where Celtic can officially clinch the SPFL title!
What’s more, they can clinch it at Tannadice – the stadium where the Hoops officially lost the league last year.
A 25-point deficit has been turned around in one season under the most trying of circumstances.
People forget the turmoil Celtic were in back in June of last year. They allowed their managerial hunt to become a farce, they had a new chief executive who would last months in the role, a brand new squad had to be acquired. The bhoys lost their legendary captain Scott Brown, their top goal scorer Odsonne Edouard and their best defender Kristoffer Ajer.
There was a general consensus, Celtic winning a cup trophy and showing progress in the league would be enough for this season. Ange Postecoglou never read the script!
Three away defeats on the bounce at the start of the season and people were claiming the manager would be gone by Christmas. Instead, Ange had a League Cup winners medal in his house on the big day.
Since the beginning of 2022, Celtic have been relentless, back to back Glasgow Derby wins, going ahead in the title race and never looking back.
It’s been an incredible season that everyone has played their part in.
If Celtic avoid defeat against Dundee Utd on Wednesday evening, it’s all over. We can’t wait!
