Former Celtic midfielder Thomas Gravesen has warned Copenhagen they must take something positive to Celtic Park if they stand any chance of winning their Europa League tie this month.

Gravesen, now retired believes the ‘inferno’ of Celtic Park when the support know the team only need one goal would be a lot to handle if Copenhagen don’t manager to get the job done in Denmark.

“Copenhagen have to be ready from the start, it’s a hugely important battle and it starts right here in the Parken.” Gravesen told RecordSport.

“You can’t give anything away here but at the same time you have to be positive and try to dominate to see if you can get a result to bring to Celtic Park.

“When you get to Celtic Park, Celtic know how to use it and how much pressure to put on.

“If the fans feel only one goal is needed the sound level rises and you have to be ready to experience an inferno.”

Celtic are favourites for the tie but it’s not going to be a walk over. The Bhoys history of travel sickness in Euro away games will give the home side encouragement.

It’s up to Celtic to show the same grit and determination that got results against Rennes and Lazio away from home in the group stage.

Gravesen knows the Celtic support can be that extra man on a Euro night at Celtic Park. The noise level does rise if the team need a lift to get over the line. Some incredible results have happened over the years with the wall of noise surrounding Celtic Park on Euro nights.

A draw wouldn’t be a bad result in Denmark but Celtic should be going for the win. We have the players to go out and try to finish this as early as possible.
