Bayern star Thomas Müller has reflected on the Celtic Park atmosphere, having missed Bayern’s last visit to Paradise back in 2017 due to injury.

Müller, who was sidelined with a torn muscle fibre at the time, returns to Glasgow having added six Bundesliga titles, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup to his honours since Bayern’s last visit to Celtic Park.

At 35, Müller is approaching the twilight of his career, but he remains as effective as ever in Europe. Having featured seven times in the Champions League this season, contributing two goals and an assist, the Bayern veteran continues to make an impact on the biggest stage.

With Müller likely to feature tomorrow night, the World Cup winner is relishing the opportunity to finally play at Celtic Park. However, he is under no illusion that the game will be easy for Bayern.

He said: (Kicker), “Anyone who underestimates the Scots has never experienced them at Celtic Park. The atmosphere there is insane. This will be a real highlight.”

It’s exactly the tone you’d expect from a player of Müller’s calibre and experience. He has seemingly seen and done it all—except play at Celtic Park, of course.

For Müller, it’s a game he won’t forget, but he knows exactly what’s at stake. Celtic have already shown they can trouble German opposition, having beaten RB Leipzig at Celtic Park in the Champions League this season. Müller is one of the most experienced players in the Bayern dressing room, but even he may be taken aback by the sheer noise and passion inside Paradise.

With Manuel Neuer also having missed the last meeting, the pair won’t be able to rely on past experience to navigate the game, making their first taste of Celtic Park all the more intriguing.

  1. Watching Vincent Kompany s post match interview and realizing what a lovely human being, no bigheadedness, just an honest and forthright person.
If Celtic fail to defeat Bayern I sincerely hope that Bayern go on and lift the trophy
