THREE CELTIC B players will be heading to the UEFA Under-17 Championship Finals in Israel next month. The Young Team will have Rory Mahady, Josh Dede and Magnus MacKenzie of the Hoops competing in the tournament.

Ben Doak, who recently moved to Liverpool for a deal worth up to £600,000, has missed out on the squad. The 16-year-old has a groin injury.

It’s an excellent experience for the young players. Representing their country at a tournament of this level will certainly help their development. They’ll come up against some top players between May and June.

The Netherlands are the current champions; they’ll be looking to keep their status.

Scotland will go head to head with Portugal, Denmark and Sweden in the group stages. Matches will be available to stream on the BBC Iplayer.

Doak is hopefully one of the final youth players to leave Parkhead. Over the past few weeks, a few players have signed extensions with the club, with a couple more rumoured to take place.
