Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn will all be hoping to take home the award when it is handed out on Sunday evening at the PFA Awards ceremony. The prestigious prize is voted for by their fellow professionals.

Captain McGregor, who previously scooped the honour in 2022, has once again been the heartbeat of Brendan Rodgers’ side. The midfielder has made 31 league appearances so far this season, scoring eight goals and steering Celtic towards a fourth consecutive league title.

Maeda has enjoyed one of his most prolific seasons since joining Celtic. Often deployed in a central role after the January exit of Kyogo Furuhashi, the Japanese star has bagged 16 league goals and nine assists — with his tally across all competitions now sitting at 33 for the campaign.

Meanwhile, Kuhn has impressed in his first full season at Parkhead. The German winger, signed from Rapid Vienna, has racked up 12 goals and eight assists in 29 Premiership appearances, including a brace last weekend as Celtic thumped Dundee United to clinch the title.

Dundee’s Simon Murray, who has been in blistering scoring form, rounds off the shortlist.

The winner will be revealed at Sunday night’s awards ceremony, with all four nominees hoping to cap off a memorable season with personal silverware.
