Celtic have been dealt a monumental blow ahead of the Europa League game on Thursday and an injury we highlighted could leave us very short if it came to fruition.
Callum McGregor will NOT make the game against Real Betis after picking up a knock against Ross County. Celtic’s iron man has been ever-present in the Celtic side over the past five years and his role in the side has taken on greater significance since Scott Brown left.
The transfer window was positive for Celtic but I did feel we were lacking in the middle of the park and a Cal Mac injury would cause problems – sadly this has come to fruition.
It’s also noted that Greg Taylor must undergo surgery to correct his shoulder and Liel Abada will be missing for religious reasons.
Ange Postecoglou says Celtic captain Callum McGregor is out of tomorrow’s Europa League game v Real Betis with “a knock”. Anthony Ralston is back. Liel Abada will be missing for religious reasons. pic.twitter.com/oa2T7hwxXL

Alison Conroy (@AlisonGConroy) Tweeted: Greg Taylor needs shoulder surgery so will be out for a while. James Forrest should return to full training in “next 7-10 days”
With adversity comes opportunity and now it looks like either Ismailia Soro or James McCarthy will have to deputise in Callum’s absence.
McGregor “iron man” lol-
Technically a good player but anyone ever seen him put in a tackle? No big loss, never turns up against Sevco or top Euro sides anyway
Here we go then team..
