It has been a long and winding road for Daniel Arzani on the road to the recovery but this is where it gets serious. Neil Lennon will be aware the player is only with us until the end of the season – he will also be aware that international duty may stop Daniel from being available for certain games this season.

This puts the midfielder in a tough spot in the Celtic squad – the club have a lot of talent in the wide positions and it was always going to be hard for Daniel to make the breakthrough. However, it could become harder for the player to make any sort of impact if Neil Lennon chooses to play members of the squad who are here full time. We saw the Celtic manager doing this with Filip Benkovic towards the end of last season when he favoured an emerging Ajer and Jozo Simunovic to the Croatian even when he was fully fit.

Arzani has only played around 12 minutes of football for Celtic when he tore his ACL a year ago. With time running out on his ability to make an impact – there could be a conversation in January about the player’s situation and if he should return to City to seek a new opportunity. October to December is a hectic schedule for the bhoys, if Neil Lennon doesn’t bring the player into the fold in the next three months – his Celtic career may be over before it properly began.

  1. If Arzani or Shved don’t get a chance from now til Christmas then we’ll be playing with 10men and a half arsed James Forrest. The guy gets away with murder
