CELTIC faltered in the SPFL in their last two games before this international break. The Hibernian draw followed up by a defeat at Livingston – it’s not been good enough but how do we bounce back.

Here are three things we’d like to see upon Celtic’s return in over a week.

A better grasp of squad rotation.

Neil Lennon thought he was riding momentum against Livingston and only made one change from the team who beat Cluj. Not many supporters were complaining before the game but it looks to have been a misstep by the manager who has a good squad he can utilise. Between midweek games and weekend ties, we’d like to see more players used to keep the team fresh.

Improved set-pieces.

Celtic and set pieces haven’t gone together for a long time. It’s baffling how many technically gifted players we have who can’t beat the first man in a corner. Above that – when the odd good ball goes into the box we’re slow to react and rarely take advantage. This is something so obvious we’d be surprised if Neil Lennon wasn’t working on this in training. If Celtic improve their set-pieces it gives them a different dimension during games against the likes of Livingston when trying to break down the team in open play looks futile.

Leigh Griffiths return.

Getting the wee striker back could prove pivotal this season. We need a player who can help Edouard out with goals and know if we rest the big man we’re in good hands. It’s up to Leigh to get fit and show Neil Lennon he’s ready to take up the responsibility. There’s no doubting he’s a major asset fully fit.

  1. Totally agree with everything you said m8 and we defo need wee griff back alot of people forget what a top player the bhoy is and he’s got the bite in him get it up ye attitude and his footballing brain is second to none very intelligent and he definitely knows where the net is 12 yards, 18yards,25 yards, 30 yards and with both feet and if he gets back to full fitness and gets his heed sorted oot he saves us a good 10-15 million pound for another striker provan goal scorer 15 to 25 a season at least hail hail

  2. I. Think the first thing is get rid of john Kennedy,,his teaching skills are invisable. At the back.. then 4-6 hours per day of ball work ,passing, heading and made to learn the flight of the ball , as we have all watched the amount of sky high shots of target we produce , and over hit passes, corners seem alien to most of the team ,and we. strikers to take them .
