Celtic defeated Inverness by three goals to one in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday evening as Ange Postecoglou etched his name into the club’s history books.

Against the Highlanders, the Bhoys were dominative and made sure there were no slip ups.

Here are three things we learned from the match.

Infamous Trio Come To The Fore

All of Celtic’s goals today were scored by three players who have contributed so much in their time in Glasgow thus far.

The iconic front three of Jota, Kyogo and Liel Abada all grabbed goals in the victory which made history for Celtic.

Moreover if today was Ange Postecoglou’s last in charge of the club, it was fitting that all goals scored in the game were by players who have been key in his time in Glasgow.

Celts Become World Record Breakers

As a result of their win today, Celtic won the treble – the eighth in the club’s history.

This is a new world record as no team in world football has completed a domestic clean sweep eight times meaning today’s players helped make history and break new ground.

Bhoys Dominative As Ever

In today’s game, Celtic were on top throughout.

At no point did Inverness threaten are make any cause for concern.

This point is proved with the fact that according to FotMob, the Hoops had 72% possession and let Inverness have only one shot on goal.

Normally at this point we’d be speaking about taking these learning points into the next game although that is not for a long while due to it being the end of the season now.

Today may well have been Ange Postecoglou’s last in charge of Celtic but that should not be thought of just now.

Rather, fans should celebrate today’s treble win and the Australian’s future will sort itself out in the near future.
