CELTIC went down without a fight on Sunday afternoon, failing even to make it uncomfortable for St Mirren. It was a dreadful showing from Celtic, who, at halftime, hadn’t even registered a shot on target.
Fans have voiced their frustration at the result and performance, but at the end of the weekend, Celtic still sits two points clear at the top of the table. No one expected it to be plain sailing until the end of the season, but it’s a brutal defeat to take.
After going 364 days without a league loss, panning out thirty-eight games, Celtic will go again after the international break.
Here are three things we learned as Celtic fell to defeat in Paisley.
CCV and Starfelt Play An Important Role
If Carter-Vickers and Starfelt had started today, I very much doubt Celtic would’ve conceded the two goals they did. The pair are incredibly strong defensively and have shown that throughout last season. With both injured, it is a worry for Celtic fans, with the side too weak in the air without them. We can get away with one dropping out, but with both out, it’s a disaster.
Celtic Can’t Make Too Many Changes
Ange Postecoglou made six changes to the side today, a worry for many fans heading into the match. As many predicted, the rhythm of Celtic’s game was disrupted, and the players just couldn’t get going. With an international break coming up, it’s baffling that Ange made so many changes, especially when players, like Jota, won’t be travelling.
Two Strikers Doesn’t Work
When Giakoumakis came onto the park to join Kyogo up top, the game didn’t change. If anything, Celtic missed the presence in the middle of the Park. It was a desperate measure, but one that didn’t work. In hindsight, O’Reilly should have come on for Turnbull and Giakouamkis for Kyogo.
You missed out that we learned Aaron mooy is absolute dug shite.
Today’s team was far from exciting. Pretty much a Scottish or League cup team.
So pretty much how Celtic will line up, after most Cl games. More money to be made in European games. The worm has turned against football for the enjoyment of it.
And Angers not pleased.
But even at two nil down and over thirty-five minutes to play St Helen Mirren held on to their three points.
So the plaudits go to them for a change
No more quandary’s from Anger now. But judge him in May. A whole lot of things to happen and balls to be kicked.

For the 3rd game I have to say Maeda is not up to the task. No first touch, can’t go past a man, can’t finish. Should be the first one sold in January!
Yet Ange plays him constantly, it’s starting to look like he watches a different match to me.
Also Welsh isn’t strong enough easily pushed about, another centre half needed.
