I have to say, the news that Kristoffer Ajer might be interested in leaving Celtic this summer is not that much of a surprise. Probably, as Celtic players go, I’d have put Ajer on the medium to strong category of potential summer transfers.

However, the timing of his agent’s comments is utterly indefensible. If the Norweigan has instructed his agent to go public now then he’s made a massive error. If his agent has gone rogue and did this then Ajer must now distance himself from his advisor.

Read his agents comments HERE.

Three days out from a Glasgow Derby with title consequences and we have quotes from the player’s agent saying he’s off first chance he gets is just unacceptable.

If the player wants to leave then doing so at the end of the season and saying goodbye would be the proper way to do it. Ajer’s agent has put pressure on his client and even thrown a move into doubt. Celtic will not accept a low offer for Kristoffer but some clubs might feel they can get away with low balling the club because of his agent’s comments.

In the meantime, Ajer playing for the club will see him come under the microscope like never before. It’s disappointing to say the very least.

I am one of those people who subscribe to the notion that some media outlets will do their best to try and write negatively about Celtic before a big game. In this instance, one of our own player’s has given them an open goal to do what they like.

Timing is everything.

  1. Get off your high horse , it’s not the players doing , stay calm, there is far more pressing issues to be concerning ourselves with right now.

  2. Celtic. Owe there players nothing .They are payed to play , as hired hands , they have the privilege of signing a new contract or no,t even if its the club. That has improved there fitness or ability. Sell at the first chance don’t be caught short again.
