TIMO WEAH sent an Instagram video post today of the player pulling away from Lennoxtown with a waving emoji sparking rumours the player’s Celtic loan was prematurely ending.

We can confirm in the last hour he HAS been called up for the under-20 USA side for this summer’s World Cup in Poland meaning he will NOT be available for the Scottish Cup Final and with only two league games remaining his video post seems to suggest he’s leaving shortly.

The American will represent his country at Under 20 level with their first group game pencilled in for May 24th – a day before the Scottish Cup Final.

Timo has blown hot and cold and maybe not got the run of games he would have liked since coming in during the January window.

The player was only on a short term loan and he’ll head back to PSG after the World Cup where he will consider his next move.

There has been no indication from the club if Celtic want to try and get the youngster back next season – given he was used sparingly it’s doubtful.

There is a chance he could make the squad for Sunday and today was his final day at Lennoxtown.

If it is the end though, all the best Timo!

  1. Timothy Weah’s comments over on the Celtic Star were 1st class and perhaps gives us an insight to NL’s emotional outbursts. This bhoy knows what it means to be a Celt and has skill and loyalty. Lennon has dealt with him in a very shoddy way IMHO.
He has not been given a proper run of games and there was the possibility of him being here longer. I am dismayed by this. You can read Timo’s statement on the Celtic Star blog where he thanks the fans very sincerely. Not good Celtic.
