TIMO WEAH has spoken of his time at Celtic as he starts afresh in France with his new side Lille. Weah signed a five-year deal with the French club and cost €10m according to Goal.com

The American dropped in for a brief four month period with Celtic where he started off well but fell out of the team and ultimately left early due to a World Cup call up.

The attacker was brought to Celtic by Brendan Rodgers who initially used Timo as part of his front three but when the Irishman left to go to Leicester, Neil Lennon came in and he was used sparingly.

Asked if he had got anything out of his time at Celtic, the USA international admitted it helped him grow up and gave him confidence.

“It’s a very physical league. I got some confidence, I became more mature. It was good for me to play there. I scored some goals and that’s prepared me well for coming here.” He told Journalist Robin Bairner.

With Neil Lennon and Timo Weah clearly not seeing eye to eye there was never any chance of the player coming back to Celtic Park. His move to Lille sees the player start afresh and he has been positive about his time in Scotland which is great to hear.

  1. Timo Weah good player but is he worth €10m not sure about that what has he done not much for such a high price only time will tell, its a like Alfredo Morelos they want top buck for a player who has won nothing here in Scotland only has two caps and never has he scored v Celtic he has not played any CL games he cost around £1 million and he was top goal scorer last season a price they sell for is around £3 million will he be top scorer this season only time will tell,do you think any team are going throw £20 million at a player that has done very little so far,he will still be here this season as i am sure no team will spend big money of a player with a CV like his…
