Timothy Castagne has been linked with Celtic since December, but other than a link made in the media, there seems to be nothing coming from either the player or his agent which would suggest Celtic are in for the defender or even interested.

If they know of interest from the Scottish Champions, his agent is not talking about it!

Speaking to Cittaceleste, his Ulisse Savini said there is interest in his player, and there could be movement in this window, but it could be to another Italian club or even onto the Bundesliga.

“The chance to see him at (Lazio) is concrete,”

“Lazio (sporting director) Igli Tare likes the player.

“In Italy there is also Fiorentina keen on the player and abroad there are some German clubs.”

With two strikers and a midfielder brought in thus far, Celtic fans know the most prominent position which needs to be filled immediately is a right-back.

Castagne looks like an ideal player but the potential costs involved along with the competition for his signature; it seems like it would take a lot for the player to leave Italy for Scotland.

Is it impossible? No. Brendan Rodgers has proven if he can chat to players about a potential move to Celtic Park, he’s more than capable of selling them on the club.

There are 22 days left, and with three in, there’s certainly expected to be more.
