He may not have seen any action on the day but it’s safe to say Timo Weah enjoyed his first hand look at the Glasgow Derby atmosphere at Celtic Park on Sunday.
The player was an unused substitute for the Parkhead side but watched on as his team-mates got the victory and was there to celebrate at full time.
On Instagram, he like many others had a cheeky pop at Steven Gerrard after his ridiculous Lions Den comment in his pre-match interview.
Gerrard asked if he and his players were going into the lions den but instead of addressing the question and metaphor he started describing an actual lions den to the journalist and declared there would be no actual lions at Celtic Park. The fans and the wider football community have had a good laugh at these comments and Timo Weah was no exception with his use of a hashstag on his Instagram account.
“Insane, proud of the bhoys today – atmosphere was something else! #LIONSDEN’
With Celtic thirteen points clear and three wins away from the title, Weah could get some more game time now. Neil Lennon is yet to start the attacking midfielder since he came in as Celtic boss.
