It has today been announced that former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has joined English Championship side West Bromwich Albion [West Brom].

The former Celtic star has joined Steve Bruce’s side on a one-year deal, with a further year’s option in the clubs favour.

He departed Celtic on the last day of the season alongside Nir Bitton on what was an emotional day for both players.

There had been a lot of speculation around Rogic’s future as the summer months rolled on with it even being suggested that Rogic was about to quit football.

Socceroos fans will also be delighted with this news as it will mean that Rogic will be given vital game time in the lead up to the World Cup in Qatar in November.

Celtic are set to benefit out of Rogic being selected for the Australia squad as they would be benefiting financially from the player joining up with current Hoops star Aaron Mooy.

The 29-year old gave Celtic fans many joyous days during his 9 year spell at the club where he created many magical memories.

“I was looking for a change of scenery and a fresh challenge. I didn’t just want to rush into anything. I think it was important for me to take my time and make sure my next club was the right club. I had some time to reflect and I now feel refreshed and re-energised and excited about the future. I’m really looking forward to getting started at Albion”, said Rogic speaking to the official West Brom website.

Many Celtic fans will hope to see him do well down south and wish him all the very best for the future.
