In a unsurprising turn of events, former Celtic star Tom Rogic has left West Bromwich Albion after less than a year with the English club. The Australian midfielder, who signed with the Baggies in September 2022, exits having scored twice in 23 games across all competitions last season.

Rogic’s departure from West Brom comes on the heels of his illustrious tenure at Celtic, where he etched his name into the annals of the club’s history. The Australian international left Celtic at the end of the 21/22 season, having played a pivotal role in helping manager Ange Postecoglou clinch a double.

Rogic’s time at Celtic Park was marked by numerous memorable moments, but none more so than his contributions to the legendary invincible treble side under Brendan Rodgers. His outstanding last-minute goal in the Scottish Cup final of that season remains etched in the memories of the Celtic faithful, a testament to his ability to rise to the occasion.

The Australian’s journey at Celtic was one of growth and success. From his early days at the club, Rogic showed immense potential, which he fulfilled under the guidance of Deila, Rodgers and later Postecoglou. His technical skills, combined with his knack for scoring crucial goals, made him a fan favourite at Celtic Park.

Rogic’s departure from Celtic was met with mixed emotions. While fans were saddened to see him leave, they were also grateful for his contributions to the club. His move to West Brom was seen as a new challenge for the Australian, a chance to test his skills in the English Championship.

However, his stint at West Brom was short-lived. Despite showing flashes of his Celtic form, Rogic struggled to find consistency in a team that was undergoing a transitional phase. His two goals in 23 appearances were a far cry from his prolific scoring record at Celtic.

We wish him all the best wherever he ends up next.
