Tom Rogic is set to leave Celtic, ending a seven-year stay at the club according to MailSport who claim the midfielder is close to a move to an unnamed club in Qatar.

thE PAPER WRITED: Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is set for a move to Qatar, with the Scottish club close to agreeing a £4million deal for his departure.

Tom is yet to start a game this season and missed much of pre-season with an injury. A large part of last season was spent on the sidelines also.

The Australian has been a massive part of Celtic over the years. Going from bit-part player to invincible treble winner.

Neil Lennon and Celtic look like they want to move forward without Tom now.

The report doesn’t say what club have had a bid accepted for the Celtic star but if true, we could have seen the last of Tom at the club with a deal expected to happen very quickly.

It could make way for Celtic to put in a bid for David Turnbull who is reportedly still on Celtic’s radar since last season.

It will be hard to see Tom go, but his place in the squad has been diminished in recent times.

  1. About time. Lenny is after strong players and Tom, who has a relaxed style is often caught by the late tackle or an opposition player leaving the boot in. £4M is good money, and I hope Tom enjoys his future away from Celtic. He lit the place up with many fine goals for us and we’ll miss his strolling around the park style. Cheers Tom

  2. I guess everybody has his price. And who’s to replace him???? he will be missed. We all wish Big Tom all the best in furthering his career closer to Oz. Talk of the devil and he’s sure to bite you in your ass.
