TOM ROGIC has this morning started Australia’s first game of the Asian Cup campaign.

The Socceroos star had to miss Celtic’s final game of the year at Ibrox after his country demanded he be released straight after the Aberdeen game on Boxing day.

There was some uproar when Tom wasn’t played in Australia’s friendly against Oman, with many speculating he could have stayed at Celtic and then flown out after the Ibrox game. Australia Boss, Graham Arnold told the media Celtic had asked him not to play Rogic in the friendly due to a slight knee injury.

It looks like Tom has shaken that off as he takes his place as centre attacking mid for the Socceroos against Jordan.

The game is currently playing at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE. If there are any Tom Rogic updates to be had, you can be sure we will bring them to you!

It’s also worth noting; the sooner Australia leave the competition the better it is for Celtic.
