TOM ROGIC and his national teammates face a must-win game against Japan after drawing with Oman on Tuesday evening. Despite creating a bit of magic to set up the penalty that would lead to the first goal of the game, it was not enough to get the three points.

The Socceroos had taken the lead twice, but Oman pulled level both times.

Rogic has the potential to face his Celtic teammates in March as his country attempt to feature in this year’s world cup.

If the game results in a draw or a loss, Japan qualify. Three points behind the Asian country but have a better goal difference.

It was already confirmed that Tom Rogic would miss Wednesday’s derby game, although, Daizen Maeda could make the squad.

Rogic played a total of 62 minutes on Tuesday. He will fly back to Scotland and will be in contention for the side’s trip to Motherwell on Sunday.

Thanks to new signings, Tom Rogic’s absence shouldn’t hurt the team too much. Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley are performing well in the attacking midfield roles.
