Celtic’s latest January recruit Tomoki Iwata is set to jet into Glasgow later today and he has been picture leaving his homeland by his agency [@jebentertainment].

He will be joining up with his new Celtic teammates very soon as well as Ange Postecoglou who had originally signed him for J-League outfit Yokohama F Marinos.

Iwata was the league leaders third signing so far during the January transfer window as other new recruits Alistair Johnston and Yuki Kobayashi have already had a bit of time to settle into life in Glasgow.

The midfield area is very challenging for any player coming into the Hoops at present but he will hope to impress the manager in training as Johnston was handed his debut in the derby game on Monday along with Kobayashi being on the bench.

His agent shared some photographs of him setting out on his long journey to Glasgow from Japan, and although the deal is originally a loan, it is similar to Daizen Maeda’s in that Celtic have an obligation to buy the 25-year-old in the summer [Celtic FC].

Iwata will add a new dimension to the Celtic midfield and is very versatile which Ange Postecoglou loves in a player. He was named as the J-League’s MVP only a few months ago and will be hoping to bring that form to Scottish football.
