Mark Hendry of football Scotland has been the man in the know when it comes to Celtic transfer matters this summer. The journalist has called most of Celtic’s activity to date and clearly has the ear of someone high up at the club.

Mark has again come out on Monday night to claim, as far as he’s aware, there is no interest in Ross from Celtic’s side. The journalist went as far as saying he got a giggle from his reliable source when the name was floated.

The money involved in any deal would be enough to put most people at Celtic Park off, even if there was interest.

Ross is likely to head out on loan but his massive wage is a big stumbling block. We saw last season at Ibrox when a name comes into the club and looks to make an impact, it doesn’t always work out well.

Aaron Ramsey is a prime example of why Celtic need to be careful of bringing in anyone with a high profile reputation down south into the club. They have to be the right fit, affordable and ready to make an impact. If they don’t, it can come back to bite you.

Ramsay was hailed as the biggest ever SPFL signing by one pundit, and that assessment looked daft after all was said and done.
