UEFA’s official Europa League social media page has been highlighting the outstanding display by Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky at Celtic Park during matchday two of the competition

Celtic were beaten 4-0, which sounds like a one-way thumping but the Hoops had their chances only to be thwarted by the goalkeeper who was in fine form on the night.

After the game, the UEFA page reiterated Lukas’ comments on the atmosphere at Celtic Park. The goalkeeper putting it in his top three of all time.

Celtic are known for their incredible atmosphere, but they used to be known for taking points off much better sides because the crowd were on top of them.

As a team, the players have failed to match the intensity the crowd can bring on evenings like the Bayer Leverkusen tie.

Back in the day when we played regular Champions League football, we would beat teams like Manchester Utd and Barcelona, and give major clubs a run for their money.

The last massive performance in the Champions League was the 3-3 draw with Manchester City in Brendan Rodgers’ first season. The atmosphere was one of the best I’ve ever been to and I have watched some incredible games of football on the terrace of Celtic park since the mid-90s.
