Brendan Rodgers has this evening called out the Celtic supporters, particularly the Green Brigade, for singing Kieran Tierney’s song in this afternoon’s match against St. Mirren, outlining how disrespectful it was to Greg Taylor.

Tierney has been widely linked with an emotional return to Parkhead this past week, and it has got supporters rather excited.
Indeed, in the dying embers of today’s 3-0 victory over the Buddies, the Green Brigade could be heard singing Tierney’s famous chant.
Rodgers, though, reckons it was completely disrespectful to Taylor, who went straight up the tunnel at full time.
He said: “It’s a total lack of respect”, he said (Clyde 1 Superscoreboard).
“Look at Greg Taylor, he’s been absolutely brilliant at this club, how does he feel?
“He’s playing, he nearly breaks his nose, bleeding for the club, for the cause, I’m only worried about the players that are here.
“It’s not very respectful… I don’t like that.”
The fallout from Rodgers’ hard-hitting quotes this afternoon should be interesting, to say the least.
He has openly had a go at the Celtic fans, calling out what he thinks to be impatience and disrespect.
He went straight up the tunnel at full-time alongside Taylor, whom he was evidently defensive of in his post-match comments.
The defender has come in for heavy criticism in the past and likely wouldn’t have been happy to hear Tierney’s name be chanted.
His contractual situation remains uncertain. Taylor’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and he is yet to put pen to paper.
It remains to be seen whether he’ll stay at Celtic long term, after he, in his manager’s eyes, was disrespected by his own fans today.
Greg Taylor, loyal servant, underestimated.
