CELTIC look set to offer Darlington Nagbe a move into European football after it was revealed he has flown over for talks with the Scottish Champions.

The pacey winger who can play down both flanks burst onto the USA scene back in 2015 when he helped his club Portland Timbers to cup success. A call-up to Jurgen Klinsmann’s USA squad followed the player had many speculating that Darlington was blossoming into a world class talent.

However, since then his form has dipped and he’s lost his place in the national side.

The American midfielder is a talent, but many in the U.S game feel that his progress has been hampered by not making a move into European football. The player choosing to keep playing with Portland.

It now seems he has taken that advice on board in a bid to capture his 2015 form that seen him rise to prominence in the States.

Celtic could land the talented midfielder for around £1.5million as Rodgers looks to get reinforcements in as soon as possible. The Irishman is looking to build a solid squad going forward and this move would suggest a few wingers at the club could be shown the door in Rodgers revamp.

It’s believed Darlington will watch the Celtic vs Barcelona game from the stands tonight.
