Christopher Scott has been linked with a move to Celtic for the last four months. The Bayern midfielder is chasing first team football away from Germany after failing to make a single first team appearance last season. Two seasons ago — the 19-year-old did make two appearances for Bayern but since then he’s been overlooked.

Celtic have been keen to get a deal done for the player as Ange looks to strengthen his side for their Champions League campaign. Scott’s contract was coming to an end — however — Bayern have now triggered a year extension clause written into Christopher’s deal. [SunSport]

It means the club can’t pick up the player for a nominal UEFA imposed youth fee and will instead need to negotiate a deal with the German club.

Our sources claim Celtic already knew this to be the case before it had been officially triggered and it doesn’t change their attitude towards wanting to sign the player. There’s still a belief the Scottish Champions can get a deal done at this juncture.

The transfer window opens on June 10 and the bhoys are due back at Lennoxtown on June 27. We expect to see preparations and transfer dealings ramp up between those two dates. The manager has been on holiday and decision makers at the club have also been taking their annual leave — work is going on behind the scenes still — but there’s no panic at the moment.

  1. I’m just enjoying the close season, as I’m sure the players and staff are.

We ended the season as League Champions, won a Cup and have the added bonus of guaranteed Champions League football to look forward to next season; times are good!

The transfer rumours keep us all going, a bit of entertainment, but some of our(?) fans are a little bit frantic and need to calm down!

Too much is made of the rumour mongering created by tabloid journalists who have their own agendas, with some taking giant bites of the bait they fish with daily and then running with it!

We have a strong team, which ‘will be stronger’ when the new season gets under way, so chill, sit back and enjoy your summer and trust the manager and club to take care of business.
