It’s international week and we’re all looking for our fix of proper football while these friendlies go on in the background.

With so many people already looking to next season with regards to Celtic personnel it is inevitable that Celtic will be linked with an array of talent in the positions they most need to fill.

Today, Celtic have been linked with ‘shock move’ for Simon Mignolet.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has been overlooked by Jurgen Klopp at Anfield and reports suggest the Belgian is looking for his way out of the club.

Mignolet was signed by Brendan Rodgers from Sunderland in a £9million deal while he was Liverpool boss and is still an admirer of the player.

This is certainly not the first ex-player Brendan Rodgers has been linked with since joining Celtic and it won’t be the last.

The Irishman knows that he must sort out his official number one goalkeeper going forward next season. Craig Gordon and Dorus de Vries are on the downside of their careers and Scott Bain has an opportunity to stake his claim.

Could a cut-price deal be on the cards for the Liverpool star?
