CELTIC have already brought two striker’s in this window, one permanent and one on-loan.

Bayo and Weah will begin their Celtic careers properly this weekend and could be selected for the game against Airdrie.

However, even though the bhoys have brought in two new front men – it appears from reports Rodgers could be ready to bring in yet another.

According to SunSport, the bhoys are one of a number of clubs chasing Josh Maja from Sunderland after the striker turned down a new deal with the Black Cats.

The frontman has scored 15 goals in 29 games for Jack Ross’ side so far this year and looks set to move on now, if not the summer.

If Celtic are genuinely interested in bringing another striker to the club – it could mean one of two things; Timothy Weah’s deal has no chance of being anything else beyond the summer or Leigh Griffiths time at Celtic could be up at some point in the near future.

Right now, Celtic fans are just desperate to see their team back in action. After a flurry of signings in the first week of the window, it has all gone very quiet with no sign of defensive reinforcements yet.

  1. So far BR has brought in young talent that for a change will go straight into the team. Unlike the boy Gerrards desperate buys to stop Celtic. While Defoe has respect for his pedigree, he is an aging asset, if there is such a thing. Davis, again has credit as a decent player, but he can’t get a game for Soton, and they need good players. So I see Gerrard buying stop gap players to stop Celtic.
I heard that he told King he wanted a Messi, and the busted flush South African dud got him Defoe! Ah well, when you’ve no money to spend, that’s what you get, nothing special.
