From the probable to the ridiculous – it’s fun to talk about potential players coming in when there’s not much else going on in the post season.
However, sometimes it goes a step too far when the player in question whose name has only been a fleeting blip on the Celtic transfer rumour radar moves to another club and Celtic become the ‘snubbed party’.
This is what looks to have happened today with the news Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba is on his way to FC Porto if again RUMOURS are correct.
There was a report in The Sun in May suggesting Celtic might be interested in him but other than that it has been pretty quiet. Not to mention Newcastle paid £10million for the player back in 2015 and are looking to recoup most of this in any deal set forward.
That already takes Celtic out the running even if they were interested.
Again we love a transfer rumour but some outlets reporting a ‘snub’ is wide of the mark.
It’s the equivalent of you being told you’ve lost a race you were never a part of.
