Celtic thought they had snapped up young Australian striker, Stefan Nikolic, in May when the 16-year-old agreed to sign for the club and come in this season. the 16-year-old was scoring goals for fun and caught the eye of Celtic.

A deal was in place to bring the youngster to Glasgow to begin his career as a Celtic player as reported by SunSport. However, official communication never came from the club over the deal.

It has now transpired that any deal which was in place is now dead, with the youngster opting to sign a new deal with Western Sydney Wanderers, as reported by Record Sport.

It will keep the youngster in Australia for the time being.

This could purely down to the current situation with the virus and a family decision to stay in the country in these difficult times.

There’s also the likes of former young Celt Leo Mazis and Daniel Arzani who came over and were not successful within the Celtic system.
