There has been a lot of mystery surrounding the Kieran Tierney situation since Arsenal made their first move for the Celtic star.

Since then, depending on what report you pick up, some will say they have had three bids rejected and others will say it’s two while Neil Lennon cleared things up by saying it was only the one. The Irishman spoke on Tuesday night about the situation and said:

“As I said last week, the first offer wasn’t what we’d look for and I don’t think we’ve had another one yet,” Lennon told RecordSport.

“It’s as you were. Will it rumble on? Probably.”

However, there are now reports that Arsenal are ready to negotiate a settlement with their current left-back Nacho Monreal to get him off the books at the Emirates and facilitate the move for Kieran Tierney.

RecordSport reports that interest from Italy has prompted the London club into action sooner than expected and a bid should be forthcoming in the next 48 hours and will offer Celtic £22m for their defender.

Again this is all just reports and until now it seems nobody has had a grasp on what’s actually going on behind the scenes.

A lot will have to do with social media with Arsenal blogs in overdrive about signing Tierney. A lot of them have just thought it would be a formality, that’s turned out not to be the case.

  1. The tripe the media in Scotland print is woeful. They try to second guess the movement of players and sums involved. Within 24 hours they are then on contradicting themselves as if they hadn’t started the rumor themselves. Really the time they waste is pitiful.
I love it when a player or manager sticks it to them and tells it as it is, aka, Andy Robertson and KT, Neil Lennon and the fictitious bids for KT.
The news that “gies a drink McLeish” spouts on what KT should do, is a joke. Another failed old lag, bumping his gums about Celtic. I suppose when your old team can’t get a bid for “moreorless” you have to talk sh1te to get your name in the papers.
