He may be one of the lesser known players in a talented group of young stars coming through the ranks at Lennoxtown but it’s worth noting Mark Hill has been quietly sent out on loan to the USA this week in a shock loan move.

The youngster joined Celtic back in 2013 from Hamilton but at the age of 20 is still to make a first team appearance. As far as we’re aware Mark’s contract runs out next summer and with the midfielder being loaned out for the entire USL season, it could be the beginning of the end for his Celtic journey.

The player joins former Celtic coach Jim McGuinness at Charlotte Independence where Celtic sent Andrew Gutman once they signed the player back in January.

Speaking about the move to the club website Mark said:

“I know Jim demands his players be hardworking and it was the exact same way at Celtic when I played under him there.

“Hopefully I can do that here and go back to get a chance with Celtic.”

Celtic’s midfield spaces are limited with the bhoys having a lot of talent at their disposal. Mark could be gearing up for full time life without the club in the near future and this loan move could be very beeneficial
