MOST Celtic fans had made heir peace with Pateick Roberts not returning to the club this summer.

The winger told hoops fans at the back end of last season he was looking for a Premier League challenge and would most likely stay in England.

However, Brendan Rodgers has given a massive shot in the arm to anyone who was hoping Paddy would return by stating he’s playing a waiting game for the Englishman and Celtic may be in a position to do a deal AFTER the English window closes next week.

Speaking about Roberts, the Celtic gaffer did anything but deny his interest:

“He has obviously been away with Man City and he is there but our eyes are open to lots of options.

“He was unfortunate last year because early on he sustained a really bad injury and it was then obviously difficult for him. But he is a fantastic player and we are always going to be interested in top class players.

“That is maybe where the advantage will come with the window down south shutting down early.

“By that stage players will know where they are at their own clubs. So it is just a case of looking and waiting to see what happens.”
