It is well reported at this stage now that that Arsenal has had a bid for Kieran Tierney rejected by Celtic. The figure of 15 million has been quoted by The Sun newspaper this morning. According to the article, the figure doesn’t come close to the Parkhead clubs valuation of the player.

What has been somewhat overlooked is that the same article claims that Napoli has also made enquiries about Tierney, who has 12 caps for his country. Apparently, the Italian club has requested to be kept up to date on the situation. The Italians can afford to match any offer Arsenal make although moving to Italy would be a massive life change for the Celtic icon and he would have a lot more to consider with a move abroad.

Celtic will not be in any hurry to sell their star player, who at 22 years of age, is one of the best fullbacks in Britain already. He is contracted to the Bhoys until 2023, which means Celtic will not be in a hurry to sell the player.

The player is still recovering from a double Hernia operation. The player himself is a Celtic fan, and came through the academy at Parkhead and may not wish to move on just yet.

  1. No one wants to see Tierney go but he will go if the money is right then Celtic will sell, now how much is he worth if you look at the price of his Scottish team mate that plays for Liverpool then any move down south to one of the top teams would put him on a par with liverpool left back he is as good as Andy Robertson who some say is the best left back in the world and he is worth £75 million so Celtic would want £30 million and a 10% sell future sell on…they will come for him now….
