CELTIC are sweating over the fitness of James Forrest in particular after Celtic’s 2-0 win against St Johnstone in Perth.
The Bhoys were made to wait for their goals, but they eventually came with Timothy Weah grabbing the headlines with a fantastic assist then scoring a goal of his own.
There are a lot of talking points coming out of the game, but the most worrying one is the state of our injured squad. Right now, there’s a queue to get into the Parkhead physio room and yesterday made that line even longer.
Mikael Lustig came off at half time with a problem, giving Jeremy Toljan his debut. Then Edouard was fouled in the penalty area and took a nasty knock and had to be subbed after just coming on as a sub; the Frenchman stretchered off. James Forrest would also not be able to see the last ten minutes of the game out with the player having to head up the tunnel early with a hamstring problem, leaving Celtic with ten men to finish the game.
Speaking after the win, Brendan Rodgers gave Celtic fans an update on CelticTV:
“Listen, we’ll make do. We have some outstanding players who can play in those positions.
“We will assess it on Monday and see where we’re at.
“Odsonne’s had an impact on the front of his foot.
“If you watch the replay again the boy, Joe Shaughnessy is stretching and his foot accidentally catches Odsonne as he’s gone to hit it.
“These modern boots now are not so tough!
“It’s just caught him right on the front of his foot so he’s in a bit of pain, but hopefully he will be okay.
“James is more of a worry as he felt his hamstring was a bit tight. We had to play the last ten minutes or so with ten men.
