SPFL CLUBS are set to meet on Tuesday to discuss the proposed introduction of VAR to the Scottish game.

The meeting over Zoom, the clubs will meet to discuss the equipment before voting on the matter. All 42 clubs will be in attendance.

The vote requires 75% of clubs in each league to back the proposal for VAR to be introduced to Scotland’s top flight.

The share of the costs will be divided between SPFL clubs based on where they finish in the league.

Celtic are yet to announce whether they support or oppose the equipment publically, but it’s thought that they will vote in favour of the technology.

VAR will not be able to intervene with decisions that Bobby Madden got wrong on Sunday, and it makes VAR feel pretty pointless. There’s no point having the equipment in Scotland if the incompetent referees are still manning the screens.

It’s seen as a quick fix, but in reality, it’s not.

Are you in support of VAR in Scottish football?
