According to reports in Turkey, Fenerbahce are looking at the possibility of signing Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic.

Jozo played second fiddle to Ajer and Boyata in the second half of last season and seems to be struggling for confidence.

The player was sent off against Alashkert midweek for a high boot, much to the manager’s dismay.

Jozo has seen red twice in his last ten outings for Celtic, the other coming famously at Ibrox where ten men beat the hapless Govan side.

It’s clear the Bosnian is not Celtic’s first choice anymore, however, the defender spoke in pre-season about recapturing his form and fighting for his place in the Celtic side.

It’s highly unlikely Celtic will entertain any bids for their defenders at the moment.

With Boyata on holiday after the World Cup and Lustig only just about to return, Celtic have a massive selection headache for the Rosenborg tie.

If Fernabache do want the player, just like Armstrong, they will have to pay a large sum of cash.

  1. Flog him but have a replacement signed immediately. Same with Boyata get rid ans replace with a Euro ready CB straight away. This position has been a problem for too long but it requires money not penny pinching.
