Turkish side Trabzonspor is being credited with a major interest in Celtic outcast Christopher Jullien ahead of the new season.

Record Sport claim the Turkish side is looking into a move for the French defender who looks set to make his Parkhead exit sooner rather than later.

Chris looked all set to move out to FC Schalke on loan this season, but after passing a medical, the Hoops defender returned without signing a deal.

It’s no secret Chris is unhappy at the club and that Ange Postecgolou sees the big man’s future elsewhere, but until a club makes a firm offer, he continues to train as normal.

Jullien even got some game time against Blackburn on Saturday and might get a run out against Legia Warsaw and Norwich before the beginning of the season.

The former Toulouse defender was a massive part of Neil Lennon’s Celtic squad, but a long-term injury halted his Celtic career, and his last meaningful action for the club looks to be clearing the ball off the line while his knee collided with the post.

If Chris wants first team football this season, it’s unlikely to happen at Celtic.

  1. Big Chris was awesome in the 19/20 season. Constant set piece threat, if a bit balletic at the back at times. Being 3rd choice at best clearly won’t suit him, and he will leave with my best wishes.
