David Turnbull hopes he can emulate the career of Celtic captain Scott Brown and named him as the ‘poster boy’ for any young Scottish players.

As reported by the Daily Record, Turnbull was introduced to the Celtic support today and reacted to possible comparisons between himself and Brown.

“He has obviously been here for years. He came here as a young boy all those years ago and he is someone you can look up to. If I can do half as much as he has done it would be amazing.

I believe in my ability and I feel as if I can come here and make an impact. Hopefully I can do that I and I feel ready.

I always believed in my ability and that after my injury not much would have changed”

Brown himself, joined the club at a similar age to Turnbull and has went on to become a crucial player for the Scottish Champions over the years.

Turnbull, finally signed for the Hoops, 14 months after his failed move to Glasgow due to the knee injury which was picked up during his medical

The midfielder is clearly a target that manager Neil Lennon is a fan of, going back in the 21-year old despite the problems he has faced.

He has started the season off in fine form, being arguably the Well’s best player so far

Turnbull could be in line to make his debut, this Sunday as the Celts get set to his old side, Motherwell.
