In the last few months midfielder, David Turnbull has been one of the few shining lights of what he been a poor season for Celtic and arguably our best midfield player this campaign.

He may have been our best midfielder but he certainly has the quality around him to help that and as a young player to learn off of. One man who the 21-year old has reserved praise for is Tom Rogic.

As quoted by the Glasgow Times, Turnbull had very good things to say about the Australian, describing as one of the best he has played with or against.

“When I was up against Tom with Motherwell I always felt it was impossible to get the ball off him,” he said. “He’s just so strong, he can hold the ball up and hold you off as well. There’s so many good touches – it’s just hard to get the ball off him.

“It was like that against him but he’s the same in training. He keeps himself to himself but there’s a bit of banter there. He’s such a chilled out guy.

“He’s right up there with the best I’ve played with or against. You see his technical ability when he plays. We’ve been playing together recently and hopefully, he can continue to show it. He looked very sharp the other night, especially in the second half when we all kind of clicked together. We all showed our ability but Tom especially.

“That’s three games we’ve won in a row and we’ve got better in each game. Hopefully, we can kick on and continue the run.”

It is crazy to think that Rogic has been at the club for around eight years now and is technically sneaking up on being eligible for a testimonial at the club.

We have seen so many incredible moments from the 28-year old but like many others, he hasn’t produced enough this season.

In the summer, Rogic came extremely close to exiting the club. It certainly should be interesting to see if he is part of the rebuild or not come next season.
