DAVID TURNBULL’S deal to Celtic fell apart on Thursday afternoon with both clubs confirming the transfer was off after a medical had unearthed an injury which will see the midfielder miss anywhere between 4-6 months.

Even though the medical was failed and Celtic were perfectly within their rights to drop the transfer completely the club STILL tried to bring Turnbull in on an initial loan deal where they would pay and oversee the player’s treatment, get him the best rehab and then get him playing again with a view to signing him permanently next summer. However, the Scottish champions would provide no guarantees of that permanent deal in case the player’s injury becomes a major future problem. The deal fell apart and Turnbull remains a Motherwell player.

You can only imagine how gutted David is as he gets set for surgery in the next week or so. Last Friday he was in the Celtic boardroom talking to CelticTV about becoming a Celtic player, this week that dream is in tatters.

After the deal broke down the player was on social media and while he didn’t post anything himself, he acknowledged several Celtic fans messages about the failed move.
