CELTIC look to set sit down and thrash out deals for not one but two first team stars in the coming week.

The club is ready to sit down with both Dedryk Boyata and James Forrest as they look to hold on to both players who have entered the last year of their deals.

James Forrest has been on the form of his life for Celtic the past 12 months and has started the season brightly once again. Many people take it as a given he will sign a new deal but it’s never as cut and dry as that. Peter Lawwell infamously lost Jackie McNamara to Wolves by assuming the player’s loyalty to the club was enough at the time.

James has made no qualms about where his future lies and has admitted he’d like to finish his career with Celtic – this deal should get over the line before too long.

Dedryk Boyata, on the other hand, is more pressing for both the player and the club. The EPL window closes in two weeks. With most of the interest in the defender coming from south of the border, the club will seek to make a deal with the player or likely sell him for a decent fee before that window closes.

Boyata has sent mixed messages to the Celtic support, telling one Belgian paper that he would like to head back to the Premier League before his career is over. while in another report he has admitted how much he loves being at Parkhead.

It’s time for both the club and the player to show their hand.

  1. Sign James Forrest up with a good 4 yr contract.

Give Boyata to the highest bidder ASAP and get a decent centre half in before the window closes. This guy flatters to deceive and is a calamity in a Celtic jersey. Either he wakes up his ideas or out the door.
