IF you’re a Celtic fan it’s hard to imagine a Celtic side or squad without Scott Brown in it these days.

The player has been ever-present for the club, especially in the past few years!

Taking on the captaincy under Tony Mowbray and Keeping it under Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila and now Brendan Rodgers – the midfielder is truly the heart and soul of this Celtic side.

With Scott’s current contract running down, it’s no wonder there is still a lot of interest for the Celtic captain even at the age of 33.

Brown’s current contract runs out at the end of the season but he has been signing extensions over the past few years and he spoke a few months ago about being relaxed about the whole situation.

A consortium who hope to get a slot in the A-League in Australia has already confirmed Broony is one of their top targets if they manage to get the green light.

However, reports today suggest MLS side Kansas City are also interested in taking the midfielder on should he be ready to leave Celtic in the near future.

Opinion

Brown is Celtic through and through and unless something radically changes or the manager wants to move him on, it seems unlikely the player would walk before he was pushed.

Scott is proud to be Celtic captain and would love to help play a part in the next few seasons at least with the club chasing ten in a row.

The two clubs who have shown an interest at this point do offer certain lifestyle and monetary advantages for Scott’s family.

But Brown has been adamant he’s happy at the club and wants to move into coaching in the next few years.
