CELTIC has announced an Austrian pre-season tour for the beginning of the 22/23 season, the club returning to the country for the first time since 2019. The fixtures haven’t been released as of yet for the trip but more info will be forthcoming shortly

Celtic have also confirmed they will host two English sides in friendly matches at Celtic Park when they return from Austria in the build-up to next season. Norwich and Blackburn will both head to Paradise, and both games will be on the season ticket. Norwich will visit on July 16 and Blackburn on July 21.

Assuming Celtic wrap up the league in the next ten days, there will be no qualifiers for the club to play in the summer – which is welcome but strange. Celtic fans usually get one qualifier on the season ticket and a random friendly. Next season we’ll get two friendlies. When they occur, these games are usually half full with many still on their holidays etc.

It will be a good warm-up for Ange Postecoglou’s side, and it could be the time we get a first-hand glimpse of any new signings.

Celtic still has to get over the line in the coming days to secure the SPFL title. After that, there will be a very short celebration period before they go again.

Deals for Jota and CCV are high on Celtic fans’ thoughts, and taking this team to the next level is something that excites us all.
