CELTIC were put to the sword by a ruthless Bayer Leverkusen side who showed no mercy when Celtic allowed them the space and time to do damage.

The bhoys had their moments and could have got on the scoreline if not for the heroics of the away goalkeeper.

We always knew we were on a hiding to nothing but Celtic fans will think we could have made a much better account of ourselves on the night. Beaten 4-0 at home is not a good look.

We can’t dwell on the game too much, there’s a massive game on Sunday for Celtic and that’s where the positives come in.

Ange brought CalMac and Kyogo for the tie against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night and the pair must be a stick on to start on Sunday at Pittodrie.

The pair will be key to our SPFL hopes going forward and we have to make sure they both do the business up north.

We’ve been badly missing Kyogo and his movement against Bayern was great at times. Hopefully, he gets back to scoring.

  1. Tonight, as in most games we play, the midfield of Turnbull/Rogic is disaster waiting to happen.
2-0 up at Betis and we lose four. Both players shockingly poor defensively, leaving us wide open to ANYONE AND EVERYONE. If that persists its definitely on the managers head for not changing things.
Scant consolation for us, but this season is ripe for a team outside of Glasgow winning the title.
Rangers look like they could easily go into free fall, and we don’t look anywhere near solid enough to capitalise on that. Real ‘Angeball’ will not be seen until that midfield is properly equipped to attack and defend as required. It’s blatantly obvious where our problems lie…bang in the middle of the park. EVERY team that plays us, proves this..every transition is a clear danger to us.
We are a work in progress, but if we don’t fix what’s obvious, we always will be.

  2. While Kennedy and Strachan are Postecoglu’s turn to people when in the dugout then we will have a barren year yet again. AP needs help …or move on!

    • I agree no one should listens to them Kennedy and Strachan new managers bring in there own team on and off the pitch.Back to the team we need 3 across the back at all times when RB and LB push forward we need a big CH to fill the giant whole in the middle when we push forward our RH and LH are so far apart from each other and can not cover that ground that is the big problem we need a big CH in now we miss Jullien to sit in middle and close that whole with 3 along the back line.
