MailSport is reporting two men who will put their name forward for the Celtic job in the coming days and weeks;

“Former Schalke and Huddersfield boss David Wagner and ex-Chelsea star Dan Petrescu will also put their names forward for the post” Stephen McGowan wrote.

Two men who have not been mentioned in the reckoning for the next Celtic manager.

The supporters have no idea what Dermot Desmond is thinking. Is he going to go for a steady middle of the road manager, will it be a marquee name or will it be someone with high risk, high reward?

Wagner and Petrescu are interesting candidates but I don’t think either would fill the Celtic support with confidence or get their imagination going.

The fans want to see Celtic talk to guys like Eddie Howe and Roberto Martinez, but is that retaliating.

Considering we’re looking at appointing a director of football, we need a head coach more than we need a manager. If we are to implement that structure, then we must find a coach who is comfortable of working under those parameters.

There are some coaches in the game who want to completely focus on the team, tactics and training while they send their DoF out to get them the players they need.

It’s going to be interesting and the speculation is going to get more intense the longer this runs.
