A player linked with both Celtic and The Rangers in this transfer window, Tyrese Campbell looks increasingly likely to stay south of the border even if he does move away from Stoke.

Overnight reports claim the player has attracted interest from high flying Sheffield Utd in the Premier League.

Campbell scored the winner for Stoke against West Brom on Monday night but is out of contact this summer. Record Sport have maintained both Glasgow clubs have been interested in signing the striker, however, The Blades could steal a march on any suitors by paying a transfer fee for the youngster this month.

Scottish clubs have an advantage in signing young players from down south with the compensation enforced by UEFA a fraction of what any English club would have to pay to get Tyrese in – even if a few can’t be agreed between clubs.

It would be surprising if Celtic brought in another young striker to the club with Jonathan Afolabi in their ranks.
