Celtic Under-19s will play Manchester United in a Challenge Match at Coleraine Showgrounds on Saturday, 21st July – 5pm K.O.

It is the perfect opportunity for Hoops supporters in Ireland to catch a glimpse of Parkhead’s rising stars. Tickets are available on the gate for adults at £8 and £5 for under-16s.

The first team do not have a fixture this weekend, meaning that a visit from Brendan Rodgers could be on the cards.

Michael Johnston recently netted twice for the first team against BW Linz and Standard Liege. The 19-year-old could feature in Coleraine despite reports linking him with a loan move away from Celtic. Stephen Welsh, Kerr McInroy and Ewan Henderson also appeared for the senior side in pre-season and could play against the Red Devils.

Tommy McIntyre’s side have completed two friendlies to date. The Bhoys lost 2-1 to East Kilbride at K-Park on Wednesday, 27th June and defeated Kelty Hearts 1-3 at New Central Park on Sunday, 15th July.

2017/18 was one to forget for the young Hoops as they failed to win any silverware. However, victory over the Premier League North champions would be a massive confidence boost going into the new season.

The fixture against Nicky Butt’s team is Celtic’s last before competing in the South Shields Challenge Cup. The Paradise side face Olympique Marseille at Mariners Park on Friday, 27th July before playing a team to be confirmed at the same venue, two days later.
