Copenhagen striker Michael Santos has been banned for three matches by Uefa for his clash with a police officer at Celtic Park in February.

The incident occurred when Copenhagen sealed the victory at Celtic Park, with the away side being underdogs on the night, the players ran towards their supporters to celebrate. Police and stewards put themselves in between the players and the fans and Santos was seen pushing a Police Scotland officer to the ground at the time.

The player was charged alongside another staff member.

UEFA have now taken action with BBC reporting the three match ban for Santos which will see him miss out on the next three European outings for Copenhagen.

Celtic dropped out of the competition in anti-climactic fashion. The bhoys smashed their group stage opponents and went into the knockout stages top of the group.

It was a very sore defeat to take at the time.
