Celtic now know who they will face if they get into the playoff round in the Champions League. Neil Lennon’s men would be up against Slavia Prague – but what happens if it all goes wrong?

For those who remember last season’s unfortunate exit to Athens at this stage you will know we drop straight into the playoff round of the Europa League. Today that draw was also made and if Celtic were to be beaten over two legs by Cluj they would play either Sheriff Tiraspol or AIK for a place in the Europa League group stages.

Nobody at the club will be wanting to think about that scenario at present but that game is probably one of the harder draws we could have got in the EL, should we fail against Cluj.

Celtic will be hoping to head to Romania on Wednesday and set down a marker for the home leg a week on Tuesday.

It was never going to be easy getting to the group stage and the bhoys will have to prove they deserve to be there.

  1. Anything other than a place in the CLcan only be down to a failure to properly prepare for CL participation.

With all due respect should not be eliminated by either cluj or slavia
